THE £6,000,000 LOAN.
VOTE OF CONFIDENCE IN NEW ZEALAND. PRIME MINISTER ELATED. By Telegraph—Press Association AUCKLAND, June 2. Referring to the successful dotation of the New Zealand loan of £6,000,000 in London, the Prime Minister (Hon. J. G. Coates), in a speech to a large and representative gathering at Dargaville to-day, said ho was entitled to regard what had happened as a vote of confidence, not only in tho Dominion, but also in the Government. All our cards had been placed on tho table, and our balance sheet bad been examined and bad received the approbation of the keenest financial critics at Home. Over-subscription of the loan in two horn's spoke for itself. It was now up to all of our people to do nil they could to live up to tho fine reputation which New Zealand had gained. It was quite true we had our little troubles—industrial and otherwise—but with thrift, energy, and hard work on the part of .-ill sections of the community, the clouds would soon roll away. He was firmly convinced the Dominion could look forward to n brighter days than it had experienced in the past.
