Store Sheep.—The yarding was large for this time of the year, and included shipments of ewes from Gisborne. Good crossbred awe lambs made 23/3 to 2G/10, inferior 20/to 22/-, forward wether lambs 20/6 to 21/10, medium lambs IS/- to 20/-, four, six, and eight-tooth Corricdale ew'es 34/-, sound-mouth crossbred ewes 26/-, sound and failing mouth ewes 20/6 to 24/-, four, six and eight-tootli crossbred ewes 29/2, two and four-tooth wethers 2G/2 to 26/3, four and six-tooth crossbred 22/4 to 23/3. Fat Lambs. —The entry was again small, only 1600 being penned. A good sale resulted, freezing buyers operating" freely. Extra prime heavy lambs brought up to 35/7, prime heavy 2S/6 to 32/-, medium weight prime 27/- to 30/-, medium quality 24/- to 26/6, light lambs 20/6 to 23/6.

Fat Sheep.—Slightly more than ten races were filled with fat sheep, and as is usual at recent sales, owes heavily outnumbered wethers. Extra prime wethers fetched up to 40/1- prime 32/- to 35/6, medium 29/6 to 31/6, light 27/9 to 28/9, extra prime ewes 23/6 to 24/-, medium 20/- to 23/-, light 10/- to 19/6. Fat Cattle.—The entry totalled only 455 head, as against several preceding sales, when the total averaged 600. Best Canterbury steer beef prices ranged from 37/- to 40/- per 100 lbs., North Island prime 35/- to 37/-, medium quality 34/- to 36/6, fair to good heifers 29/- to 3 2/-, inferior cow 24/- to 28/-. Extra heavy steers realised up to £IS 12s 6d, prime heavy steers £ls 10s to £l7 12s Sd, prime medium steers £l3 10s to £l6 ss, medium steers £ll to £l3 10s; extra prime heifers to £l3 16s Gd, prime heifers £8 10s to £ll, ordinary £6 10s to £8 ss; extra prime cows to £l4 2s 6d, prime £S to £lO 10s, ordinary cows £5 10s to £7 15s. A r ealers —A medium entry of vealers was forward. Good runners fetched to £6 12s Gd, medium £4 5s to £5 17s 6d, best calves £3 to £3 12s Gd, medium 30/- to £2 15s, small 10/- to 25/-. Store Cattle. —The yarding was comprised mostly of cows. Good forward cows made £4 ss, fairly good cows £2 to £3, others 25/- to 30/-, hulls to £5.

Dairy Cattle.—The entry was small, totalling 441 head. Demand, was good, and good second, third and fourth calves (spring.ngj rodlised £ll to £l4 15s, medium sorts £< to £lO 10s, others £5 to xG 10s, springing heifers £6 10s to £ll. 16s. Fat Pigs.—Choppers made _£3 to £6 15s, light baeoners £4 to £4 10s, heavy baeoners £5 to_ £j> 10s, extra heavy baeoners to £3 as (average price per lb 7ld to S!,d) ; lignt porkers 4 6/- to 52/-, heavy 00/- to 67/- (average Sd to 9d). Store Pigs. —Only a small entry was yenned. Wcaners 10/- to in. slips 22/- to 26/-, small stores 2,,to 29/-, medium stores ■'■%/- to 4J ; -, large stores to 4 6/-.
