MANAAVATU OPPOSED TO POOLING. By Telegraph—Press Association. PALMERSTON N., March 16. By a unanimous derision the Mannwatu Patriotic Society resolved to protest against tile propoals recently made that patriotic .societies’ funds throughout tho Dominion should be pooled, and vested in a central body. The proposals wore outlined in a letter received from the Under-Secretary of Interna! Affairs, who stated that a conference would be held shortly to discuss the subject. The Palmerston North Returned Soldiers’ Association forwarded a resolution jjf protest against merging tile funds, while the Hawke’s Bay Patriotic Soeietv wrote objecting to any Nationalisation of funds. During the discussion it was stated that the adnvnistration costs of the Palmerston Nortn Society were ’ the lowest in the Dominion. Tt was decided to express agreement with the R.S.A. reso’ution. report action to the Hawke’s Bay Society, and write to the Minister protesting against a conference, and the suggestion to amalgamate funds.
