STRIKERS FINED.
MAGISTRATE’S REMARKS. By Telegraph—Press Association. AUCKLAND, March 16. Eight firemen, greasers and from the steamer Kaiwarra were charged at the Police Court that on January 13, they were parties to a strike. , They had objected to a man employed to ‘ fill a vacancy, caused by one oS the crew being unable to sail. Defendants were each fined Lo and, costs, Mr Cutten, S.M., saying, that there were too many of these cases f*rooniti2 up nil over tins country. He would not entertain a suggestion to reduce the line.
