The Argentine Ambassador telegraphed Mr George Saunders, ol : Chicago, asking for the information on which the latter based the charges that tlie Argentine Government grain reports were manipulated. Tho Argentine Ambassador says ho acted on the basis of newspaper report.-,, when ho asked Mr Saunders for an explanation. These reports stated that Mr Saunders (vice-president of Armour Grain Company) “questioned the good faith of the official crop report o.i wheat in tho Argentine, and added that the report was prepared for tho benefit of the friends and relatives of the Argentine Government officials.” Mr Saunders’ reply will be transmitted to Buenos Ayres.
