MOTORIST SUSPENDED.
“TEACHING A FRIEND.’’ Bjr Te’egraph--Press Association. WELLINGTON, December 16. Ernest Allan Orr pleaded not guilty to being in charge of a motor lorry while drunk. The police stated that he came out of a hotel, and ivas manipulating the levers, but the engine was not running. The defence was that the man was not in charge of the vehicle and bad no intention of driving the vehicle home, as he expected a friend whom he was teaching to drive would do so. As this man had not arrived, he intended to drive the vehicle into a side street and leave it there. Mr "W. G. Riddell' convicted defendant and fined him £6, his license to be suspended for two months and endorsed.
