The financial position is growing more serious. M. Loucheur unexpectedly desiring to remain in office, the Cabinet today will probably request his resignation, allowing M. (Received December 16, 7.15 p.m.) PARIS, December 15. M. Louclieur was present at the sitting of the Chamber Finance Committee, which confirmed last night’s decision regarding fresh taxation and the sinking fund. The discussion centred on the issue whether the Commission should ask the Government to submit new proposals or the committee itself should draft a scheme. Subsequently M. Malvy and M. Lamoureux (chairman and reporter of the Finance Committee) called on M. Briand, and explained the exact significance of referring back the whole of t}ie Government’s fiscal proposals, which was in no waj' aimed against M. Briand. M. Loucheur then called on M. Briand and tendered his resignation.
