Gresson and Mr Pat Gresson, Seiwyn Street, motored back on Sunday Irom Christchurch. The Misses Evans (2) arrived yesterday from Christchurch to stay with Mr William Evans, North Street. The Misses Banks, who were staying with Mrs A. Grant, “Aigantighe, have returned to Oamaru. Miss Hilda Mulvaney-Gray, who was staying at the Hydro, returned yesterday to Christchurch. Mrs L. N. Kenipthorne, St. Andrews, is staying in Christchurch with the Misses" Buckhurst. Mr and Mrs F. Avent, Christchurch, are staying • with Mrs G. S. - Cray, Seaview Terrace. . Mr and Mrs M. H. Godby. and their two sons, Christchurch, will spend Christmas at Bluecliffs, with Mrs P. It. On Saturday night Mrs W. C. Burns, Church Street, gave a lour table bridge party for the Misses Banks (Uamaru). Others present were: Mesdames A. Grant, R. L. AYigley. W. D. Campbell, W. 'Thomas, R. F. Dill, W. H. Walton, H. H. Webb and A. A. Scott; Misses M. Wilson, Revell, Dryden, Wright and Popplewell. The first prize was won by Mrs A. Grant. , Last week -Mrs A. Grant, “Aignntigho,” gave a bridge party for the ■ Misses Banks, Oamaru, who were staying with lier. The house was . full .of pelargoniums and sweet peas, and 'the supper table was decorated with roses. Other players were: Mesdames W. Burns, R. L. Wigley, Howley, V. Thomas, E. D. Mos!«.*y, H. W. Hay, A. A. Scott, W. H. Walton, E. G. Korr, G. Wright (Wellington), and Misses Wright, Dryden and Revell. Miss Banks won the first prize and Mrs A. A. Scott the second.

At St. John’s schoolroom, AA r ai-iti Road, last evening the pupils of Craighead Girls’ School delighted a large audience with thfc-ir presentation of a. cantata entitled, “Little Snow White.” This was given in a pleasing manner, and reflected great credit’ on the performers, who were as follows : —Little Snow AVliitc. The annual meeting of the committee of St. Mary's Girl Guides was held at Miss Priest’s house on December 11th. Present —Miss Priest (in the chair), Mcsdames Paterson, Robson, Misses Clissold, Cooper, and Russell (lion, secretary). The reports for the year were satisfactory, the Ranger Company having gained 26 badges, including 2 homemaker’s, 2 laundress, 11 health, 2 domestic service, 8 sick nurse, 1 first class. The Guides gained 27 badges, including 3 laundress, 2 gardner’s, 1 needlewoman’s, 3 first class, 1 homemaker’s, 11 child nurse, 6 second class. Six Brownies gained service stars, seven Brownies gained first class, and seven second class. A vote of thanks was passed to the instructors for the year, and also to the president and committee 1 . Mrs Julius was elected president for the following year, and Miss Priest, as St. Mary’s representative on the executive. Other members of the committee elected were: Mesdamcs Paterson, Shcwan,.
