The Lawn Tennis Association has fecomniehded the International Federation that the ball should be between 2i and 2f inches in diameter. An abortive discussion occurred in connection with the proposal to amefid the amateur rule for the purpose of admitting professionals in other sports. Several speakers pointed out that professionals were able to participate in practically all games except tennis. Other speakers, on the contrary, favoured tightening the rule;
