REPORTS BY EXPERTS. By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, Dec. 15. Prior to leaving New Zealand, Sir Ernest Rutherford was asked by the Government for his advice as to how scientific re-search could best be organised in this country to assist in manufactures. A report on the subject has been received from Sir Ernest, aud was to-day considered by a special committee appointed to deal with the question of the application of science to industry The Committee decided to withhold publication oirtthe report until it had been perused' hv Sir Frank Heath, Secretary of the .Department of Science and Industrial Research of Great- Britain, who is now visiting Australia at the request of the Federal Government, to report on science and industry in the Commonwealth. . f The New Zealand Government lias invited. Sir. F. Heath to come to New Zealand and furnish a report on the same subject. He lias accepted the invitation, and will tour New Zealand from 2nd February till 16th March. Since the war,' the British Scientific Research Committee has rendered most va’uable assistance to many British industries, particularly the cotton and engineering industries.
