NORTH END ASSOCIATION.

SPORTS GATHERING. A meeting of the Sports Committee of . the North End Association was held to arrange officials for the sports to be held in the Park on Saturday next. Mr G. H. Andrews, who presided over a full attendance, reported that arrangements were well in hand, and provided it was a fine day the success of the gathering was assured. The Borough Council had arranged for an extra bus service to run to the Park. The Ground Committee had'met that morning at 6.30, and had marked out the ground for the various events. Entries were coming in freely, and-both tov r n and country schools would be competing. .

Mr W. D. Hume, who was in charge of the tug of war, reported that everything was in order for this event,'and medals had been donated and would be given to each bay in teams gaining first and second place. The chairman said he was pleased to sec present representatives from the School Sports Association, Messrs Crawford, Seyb and Fraser, and these gentlemen were appointed to arrange a time-table, the sports to start at 1 p.m. The following officials were appointed:—Superyisien of sports, Mr H. H. Fraser; starters, Messrs T. Mackay, A. N. Oakey, J. Waldie; mark stewards, Messrs Seyb, Crawford, Fraser,.Ashton, O’Connor, and Bro. Egbert; judges (girls), Messrs A. Lamb, E. Holdgate, E. D. Mcßae, G. Hall, C. Beatson; judges (boys), Messrs R. H. Priest, E. A. Hamilton, W. Skelton, J. Hart, O. Hutchison; judges, jumping, Messrs A. Horwell, S. G., McClelland, H. Marshall; press' stewards, Messrs F. Ryan, M. T. Reece; treasurers, Messrs T. Pope, 0. Robertson; megaphone, Mr J. McKeague; blackboard stewards, •Messrs R. Watson, A. B. Stewart.
