' The controversy regarding the .covering. of the Sheffield Shield- match wickets is causing a good deal of friction. ■A meeting-of the Victorian Cricket Association discussed a letter from the' New South Wales Association, notifying that it was proposed to discontinue covering. ■The meeting decided to reply that the Victorian'--: Association intended to adhere to "the : praeticb of covering, and suggesting that a 1 conference of Associations be called to • revise the Sheffield match rules.
