STORMY DAYS IN PERTH. By Cable —Press Association —Copyright. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. PERTH, September 17. In the Legislative Council, Mr Dutfell complained that Mr McCallum, Minister for Works, had called him into the corridor and accused him of having, in a debate on the Main Roads Bill, made a reflection upon his (Mr McCallum’s) character. Mr McCallum, after assuming a threatening attitude, said unless Mr Duffell withdrew and apologised he would deal with him as he deserved. Mr Duffell moved that the conduct of the Minister, .in using > threatening and abusive language within the precincts of the House, was a gross breath of privilege, deserving the censure of members.

An amendment ,moved by Mr Lovekin that the House regretted , that, tho Minister of the Crown should have allowed himself to use words which constituted a direct and grave attack on tho security and freedom of debate, and which were calculated to menace the independence of members of .Parliament, was carried by 14 to 8.
