In the Federal House of Repreaenttutives, Mi" Bruce announced that the Governor-General had accepted certain advice tendered him, and he (Mr Bruce) was authorised to inform the House that the Governor-General proposed to dissolve Parliament as soon as the necessary supply had been granted, and the tariff schedule validated. The announcement was greeted with cheers from both sides of the House. Mr Charlton (Labour) said liis party would facilitate Mr Bruce going to the country, and .give supply immediately. He added that the farce going on before ,»the Deportation Board would have to be placed before the people. ’ Mr Bruce, in moving tho adjournment, said he had a deep conviction that it was desirable that the people slio'uld express. an opinion whether they desired Australia should be governed by Parliament or by outside influences, and whether' they desired to see law. and order maintained in the community. The House adjourned till Wednesday. Situation Most Serious. Referring to the cabled report stating that the owners would not send more ships to Australia, until the strike was settled, Mr Bruce said the situation was most serious, and the Government would have to consider all measures by which the transport of Australian products could be secured.
