ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL.
MEETING OF COMMITTEE; Tho weekly meeting of tho S.C.F.A; was held last evening. Present—Mr J. R. Sneddon (president), Messrs Drummond, D. Bell, W. Angus, E. Begbie, E. Smaill, and E. Burn (secretary) . Correspondence was received from tho N.Z.F.A. re increase of affiliation fees for the coming season.—The secretary to write for more information-. Tho resignation of Mr T. Sherry, as a member of the Management Committee, was accepted with regret. The application of Albion Rovers for affiliation was accepted. Mr D. Bell, having received several offers of players, has decided ■to reorganise tho Albion Rovers Club, and hopes to receive tho support of the old members. Tho question of a five-a-side tournament is to be discussed at the next meeting, tho offer of a set of medals having been promised for this event, Tho draw for Saturday resulted ns follows Thistle B. v. Thistle A. (Mr Odell referee, at 3 p.m., Anzac Square). CAVE CUP. The South Canterbury Association commenced tho Cave Cup competition at Russell Square on Saturday, Rangers meeting Thistle B. before a fair attendance of spectators. After about ten minutes’ play Logie scored for Rangers from a melee in front. Thistle attacked but Grieve saved. De Latour was called upon to save a hot shot from Logie, which he cleared, and Thistle again attacked, but Beal’s shot went wide. Thistle kept up the pressure, and several times came within an ace of scoring. Rangers then carried p.a.y into Thistle’s territory, and Logie increased Rangers’ total to two with a good kick. Thistle were having the best of the play, and Jackson headed o • HMf-time SCO res: Rangers 2, Thistle B. 1. The second spell opened with Thistle attacking, and Beni scored. From a corner kick put Thistle’s total up one. Rangers came again and Weston scored. Snedden had hard luck in hitting the crossbar. Rangers came again and Davidson scored Thistle now took control, but Grieve came to the rescue and cleared. Beal centred and Grieve failed to clear. McDonald, running out to save, missed the ball, and Snedden put it into an empty goal. Just before time Duncan Rcoved for Rangers. Time was called with tho score: Rangers 5, Thistle B.
