THE SCHOOLS.
RE-OPENING IN CANTERBURY TO-DAY. The Canterbury Education Board has notified that all schools in its district may, consequent on the removal of the embargo, re-open to-day. Tho Timaru Main, Timaru West, and Catholic Boys’ and Girls’ Schools will resume this morning, and the preparatory departments at both Boys’ and Girls’ High Schools will receive pupils to-day. The Geraldine and Temuka District High Schools also will open to-day. Pupils will be enrolled at Waimataitai to-day, bub tho work of the year will not be undertaken until to-morrow, and the Soadown School alsb will resumo on Wednesday. Standards 5 and 6 at tho Waimato school will resume to-day, but owing to alterations to some of tho classrooms being in progress the other primary classes will not reassemble until Monday next.
