MEET AT ALBURY. The South Canterbury Hunt Club ; held the second.nmet In the Fairlie. district at Messrs’-Austin ’Bros.' property, Albury..■;,; ..Before 'Starting a. much appreciated’' mbrning tea was handed round. I-lounds soon raised a hare, ana a fine run of about three, miles was made, the hounds eventually being whipped off owing to puss getting on to forbidden property. Coming back another hare: was put tip by the ■pack which was working splendidly. The hare took a circular course,-and some fine jumping was witnessed, and after a good hun the first kill of the day was. recorded. ... The field then adj ourned to Messrs Austin : Bros.’ ’homestead, where lunch was provided by Messrs Austin Bros.’ and Miss Austin. After lunch hounds threw off in a paddock adjoining the house, and almost immediately anothei hare was found, arid the best run of the day was witnessed, the pack going top speed, and the horses had to Le hustled to keep m .touch with the pack. The hare put up m splendid run of about three miles before es--1 caping, and both hounds and horses then had had enough, and all voted this meet as the best held m the. district. After luncheon the Acting-master (Mr J. Guinness),, thanked Messrs Austin and Miss Austin for the use of their country, and expressed-pleas-ure of seeing such a good field. The Hunt also express their appreciation, to Mr C. Clarke, of the Albury Hotel, who showed his fine sporting spirit by putting up the hounds and hiintsthan gratis.
