BRITISH POLITICS.
MR LLOYD GEORGE’S OUTBURST.
By Cab'e—Press Association—Copyright, LONDON, June 29.
The campaign to revive Liberalism in Britain was inaugurated by Mr Lloyd Geoi'ge. Addressing a huge open-air demonstration at Manchester, Mr Lloyd George said the Labourites, when they came to office, promised to abolish secret diplomacy, but. there had never been any such secrecy. Nothing couxi be worse than the way the conversations between M. Herriot and IVvr Macdonald were handled, yet it was essential to know the truth. The sooner a conference was _held the better, as everybody, including France and Germany wanted to settle down to work. Tic accused the Labourites and Tories of stealing the Liberal programme. Like pagan barbarians they wished to crucify Liberalism and divide its garments.
