AFTER DEATH.
BEAT OF WOMAN'S HEART. • By Cable — Press Association—Copyright. LONDON, June 29. An astonishing -case of a woman's heart continuing to beat after b'reathing had stopped, was described at a Coroner’s inquest at Westminster. Deceased, aged 45 years, suddenly became ill on the street and was admitted to hospital, and diagnosed to be ‘ suffering from cerebral haemorrhage. • While being examined her breathing stopped, but the pulse continued. Additional doctors were summoned, and artificial respiration and oxygen were applied. The efforts to restore breathing were fruitless.
For 44 hours after breathing stopped the heart beat regularly.
