MINIATURE RIFLES
TIMARU CLUB. The Timaru Club held two nightly shoots last week, 48 members participating. The new system of shooting is a marked success, there now being no delays. The second' stage of Mr J. Hole’s trophy was shot off between Captain Lewis, A. Agnew and J. Foden. The following members qualified for the second stage of Dr. Burns’s trophy—T. Tutty, N. Dickenson, F. Bartos, D. Sinclair, J. Stevenson, P. Foden, Captain Lewis, F. Chittock, A. Agnew, M. Donuithorne, J. Mason, D. Gillies, A. England. The previous week’s challenge medal went to R. Seamon, while for lasi week T. Tutty, F. Bartos, and A. England tied. The highest scores off the rifle for the week at the -15yds range were: T. Tutty, D. Sinclair, J. Stevenson, Captain Lewis, A. England, W. Donnithorn'e, and F. Bartos with 70. W. Dickenson, W. Cowles, P. Foden, F. Chittock, W. Bradshaw, W. Mitchell, A. Agnew, J. Murphy, R. Seamon, W. Rennie, E. Berry, J. Mason 69. J. Toneycliffo (jun.), D. Gillies, W. Wade, P. Worthington, R. Cairns 6S. T. Hubbard, J. Wain, J. Thomas, W. Day, J. Fox, G. Berry 67. The teams from the Otipua Club will fire the first round of the “Herald” Shield, at the Timaru range on Tuesday evening. ST. PATRICK’S CLUB. The shoot-off for Mr 11. Travis's trophy resulted in a win for C. Knight. Following are the ties for Mr M. J. Doyle’s trophy:—Knight, Stirling, Hall, Lane and Underwood. On Friday night the weekly shoot took place, when Mr F. Bartos’a trophy was competed for. The following tied: —Knight, McGrath, Murphy, Stirling; McKeefry, Hall, Underwood and Lane. The highest scores off the rifle were:—C. Knight and W. McGrath 70. .1. Murphy, J. McKeefry and W. Stirling 69. A. Hall 65.
