Dr. F. AY. Hilgendorf, of Lincoln College, came to Timaru on Saturday and gave a lecture here on Saturday night under the auspices of the Canterbury Philosophical Institute. Air G. W. Anuitage, of Temuka, who has been re-elected member of the Canterbury Board of Education for the O oiith "ward, lias now completed 20 vears continuous service in Education Board work.
A cablegram from Sydney announces that Mr if. AV. Dalton," formerly Senior British Trade Commissioner in New Zealand, arrived by the Niagara to take up his duties as Senior Butisu Trade Commissioner in Australia. Air D H Cameron has been appointed* chief of the staff of “Hansard ” in succession to Air Silas Spragg, aho is retiring on superannuation. Mr Cameron Inis been a member of the “Hansard” si alf for about twenty-five years.
