Latest Everest, dispatches state that the native porters saw Alalioiy and Irvine on 7ih June, g° m S towards the summit- ihey had appaietly attained 28,000 feet on the morning of Bth. Alter that there was im news of them, though other members of the expedition, endeavoured by signals and flares to obtain tidings Colonel Norton, leadei o expedition, expresses the opinion that the tragedy was due to a smipie mcuntaineenng accident and not to the weather.
