ACCIDENT AT ENGINE SHEDS.
INJURED FIREMAN SUCCUMBS
Without regaining consciousness, Norman A. Gould, the 22-year-old fireman who was found in a seriously in jured condition in a cleaning pit at the Timaru engine shed on Friday evening last, died at the Public Hospital at noon yesterday. ■ When discovered on Friday evening the deceased’s head was jammed between the edge of the pit and tho cow catcher of an engine. It was stated that no cry was heard, and no one knows how”it was chat the engine had moved.
An inquest will be held before tho district Coroner at four o’clock this afternoon.
