AUGKLAND SESSION,
By Telegraph-—Press Association. AUCKLAND, June 25. At the Supreme Court, Lewis Weeks Byron was sentenced to ten years’ imprisonmeut for indecent assaults on males. Mr Justice Stringer said lie admitted having sentenced for similar, offences in the past, and expressed bis willingness to undergo surgical treatment. “I have no power to order it,” added the judge. “I wish I had. A Commission is sitting on this subject, and "may be they will find some better means of dealing with cases of your kind.” f William Webb Pullman, S 3 years, for breaking, entering and theft of a mattress, had lost his position on the railway service, and received two years probation. Walter Eric Harland, 22 years, on nine charges of breaking, entering and theft, and breaking with intent to commit a crime, was sentenced to two wears’ reformative treatment. " James Thomas Foster Howart, on six charges of theft of Government money as a postal officer, received two years’ imprisonment. Percy Cleary on two charges or breaking and entering and _ being in possession of housebreaking implements got three years in prison.
GISBORNE SESSIONS
By Telegraph—Press Association. GISBORNE, June 25. At the Supreme Court. Hilton Cross well, for breaking, entering and indecent assault on a woman 91 years of age, was sentenced to reformative treatment for three years, the Judge remarking that lie was satisfied that the prisoner was not of normal mentality, and should be handed over to the Prisons Board.
