—. .. —■ CHAIRMAN’S CONGRATULATORY REMARKS. By Telegraph—Pres3 Association. WELLINGTON, June 25. “I think we may say that when we started we had some qualms as to what might happen,” remarked .Mr Justice Frazer, at the concluding stages of the Railway Inquiry. Board's sitting this morning. “So far as I am concerned, and I think so far as members of the Board a.re concerned, we have been surprised, because the case has been conducted without, any ill-feeling at all. 1 was satisfied that the Department’s case would lie well presented by Mr Sterling, and I have been agreeably surprised with the ability and care with which Mr Connelly lias placed his side betore the Court. Wo have had less difficult cases that have extended over several weeks.” His Honour remarked that the most difficult, work of the Board had vet to he done. The Arbitration Court, members had other appoint-
ments to go to, but they were putting those aside, and they would get right, into this case and get out their report as soon as possible, not only because the case was important, but because their other work was getting behind. The order of reference gave them until 31st July to present, their report, but they expected that it would lie in the hands of the Minister much earlier than that. —him im muiuru—ii—liiggmatm
