WAIMATE CITIZENS’ BALL.

The Waimate Public Library Committee held a most successful ball in the Olympia last Thursday evening. The hall was tastefully decorated for the occasion, the predominating colours being pink and gold. The attendance exceeded the most sanguine anticipations, and it was estimated that over 150 couples wero present. The grand march was led off 'by the Mayor and Mayoress (Mr and Mrs AV. 11. Evans) and was a spectacular sight. Miss Campbell's (Timaru) Orchestra of seven instrumentalists provided excellent music. Mr W. G. Paul officiated as AI.C. BALL AT FAIRLIE. The Aorangi Football Club .(Fairlie) held then' annual ball on Friday. The bail was festive with its decorations of blue and white streamers (the Club’s colours).
