Both vessels were seriously damaged. The Mctagama has arrived at the dock. . The Clara Camiia was beached. The Metagama’s passengers tell. a story of wonderful seamanship. Cabins were stove in, but fortunately tnt, occupants were at breakfast. ’lho pasengers rushed on deck, as the craft was sent reeling by a heavy blow on the starboard side. The captain immediately flooded tho port ballast tanks, listing the .ship over so ns to raise tho gaping hole on the starboard out ol the water. The passengers behaved splendidly. A ruoss hoy was playing the bagpipes as the big ship heeled over at a dangerous angle. The captain's prompt action saved the vesel from foundering.
