At Stamford Bridge, A. S. Porritt (New Zealand) starts in the final of 220 yards. He won two heats in a dashing manner, and meets the South African (Kinsiman) and the Scotsman (Liddel).

At Stamford Bridge amateur athletic championships meeting, the 220 yards final resulted: —Kinsman (South African Olympic team) 1, E. Liddell (Edinburgh Club) 2, Holder (Australia) '3, Porritt (Oxford) 4. Won by two and a half yards, inches separating the others. Time, 21 7/10sec.
In the pole jump, the Australian J. Sumner (Oxford), and J. Campbell (Cambridge) tied at 10ft. In the jump off. Sumner won at 10ft, Campbell failing. ,
Received 11.5 p.m., June 22. LONDON, June 21. At Stamford Bridge, Porritt appeared to beat Liddell for second place,; but the judges decided in, Liddell’s favour. Abrahams (Cambridge University) won the 100 yards, and was not extended in 9 9/10sec. Atkinson (South African) won the 120 yards hurdles in 15 l/10sec —a championship record.
