IN THE CHURCHES.
A celebration of the Holy Communion will be held at St. Mary’s Church, to-morrow, at 8 a.m. The Rev. IT. G. Goring will conduct the services at the Baptist Church. The subjects are “Our Reserves,” and “Can we believe the Bible?” All are welcome. The Rev. T. Wilson Potts will conduct services at the Congregational Church, North Street, at 11 a.m. and 6.30 p.m., on Sunday. At the Y.P.C.A. next Tuesday, Archdeacon Julius will give an address. The services in Chalmers Church will be conducted by the Rev. P. Gladstone Hughes. The subjects of the addresses will be “Pharisee and Publican,” and “The Spirit in Man.” In view of the centenary of Lord Byron’s death at Missoloughi in Rev. W. Jellie, 8.A., will speak in the Unitarian Hall on “The Poet Byron and his attitude towards Religion.” “The Romance of our British Bible” will be Rev. A. C. Lawry’s subject, at Bank Street Methodist Church to-morrow night. In the morning Mr Lawry will preach at Waimataitai. Rev. H. J. Odell will 'officiate at Bank Street 11, and Kensington 6.30; Rev. A. Blakemore at Kensington 11, and Woodlands Stree; 6.30. Morning services will te conducted by Mr Chiles at Woodlands Street; Mr Brown at Upper Pareora; and Mr Steele at Lower Pareora. The preacher at Waimataitai 6.30, , will be Mr Doak; and at Kingsdown ( 3, Mr Irwin.
