OLD WOMAN’S MISERLY HABITS

When Sergeant McKenzie, of Sydenham visited'33 Montreal Street yester day, where a storekeeper had found the dead body of a 70-year-old widow, named Mrs Elizabeth Hunslev, ho found a filth}’ and untidy house. Ike only food lie could discover was a dirty crust of bread, and some butter. He also found almost £lO in cash, and a bank book showing a credit ot about £I2OO.
At the inrjnest held to-day, beforo Mr Wuldowson, S .H., it verdict was returned that the woman had been found dead, tlie cause of death being heart failpre, following exhaustion, accelerated by starvation.
