TIMARU CLUB. A meeting of the committee of the Tiniaru Golf Club was held on Wednesday night. The following new members were elected: —Messrs T. W. Lynch, C. S. Gordon, Dr. Ussher, S. E. Field, the Rev. H. K. Andrews Baxter, J. F. Harrison, and three schoolboy members, J. R. Mackey, J. G. Webster, and G. A. Ussher. It was decided to purchase a triplex mower for cutting the fairways. There was considerable discussion on the subject of stolen golf balls. It was stated that a considerable number

of branded golf halls were removed from the links by small boys and sold. The following players will represent the Timaru Club in a match against Waimate on Saturday—Mesdames Cox, O’Callaghan, Webber, Courtis, Misses Dudding, L. Hay, Torlesse and Ziesler. Those chosen to play against North End on Saturday are—Mesdames Innes Jones, King, Porritt, C. Young, Henderson, McMeekin. Misses Fussell (2), Wood, G. Thompson. Newman, Hartstonge, Trott, Virtue, Tizard (2). The third medal match will be played on Tuesday next. Anyone unable to play must ring Mrs Finch to-day.
