COWBOY CONTESTS.
HOSTILE FEELING AT WEMBLEY. By Cable —Press Association —Copyright. LONDON, June 16. Sixty thousand witnessed the accident at the rodeo contests on Saturday when a steer broke its leg. They immediately commenced hooting and hissing. Directly the cowboys realised tiw position, a pistol shot rang out, and the steer dropped dead. The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is applying for summonses in connection with tho matter, and has telegraphed to the Premier protesting against the continuance of tho performance. Mr Cochran announced that steer roping will not be discontinued, but will be continued privately till the championship is settled in order to keep faith with tho cowboys.
