NEW YORK, June 16. ■William Brennan was slain in his cabaret, because he resented the remarks made to a woman by Joseph Pioli, one of the two men arrested for killing. According to District-Attorney Jones the woman, whose name is not revealed, . had gone to Brennan s Cabaret with a party of which Pioli was a member. As • she was leaving with Pioli, he made abusive remarks to her. 'Brennan interceded and ejected Pioli from the cabaret.
