ItUGBY SUB-UNION. A acting of the Management Committee m the Waimate Rugby SubUnion was held on Monday evening. Present.—Messrs It. Clear (chairman), L. F Pegler, G. Manchester, it. Veitcii, r. Lundon, W. Patterson, and the secretary (Mr A. J. Inkster). It was decided to play Mackenzie at Waimate on July 10th. The secretary was instructed to write to Itangiora for further information m connection. with their ..invitation to send a team from Waimate to Rangiora. The committee decided to apply to the Borough Council for permission ro close Victoria Park on June 26th and July 10th. It was deemed advisable to have the goal posts at the School Ground padded. . Permission was given to the Hign School to take up a collection, at the mutch against Waimataitai (Timaru), on Saturday. Accounts amounting to £7 8s were passed for payment. TO-MORROW’S GAMES.

The weekly shoot of the Stud ho hue Miniature Hide Club took place m Monday evening, when a trophy presented by Mr E. S. Saunders was fired for. PI Saunders proved the winner with 70 off the rifle. The second of a scries of socials in aid of the school funds was held in the Library Hall, Hunter, last Friday evening, and despite the cold weather, was well attended. At intervals, during the evening songs were sung by Mrs Allan, Mrs Anderson, Miss Hammond, ss Allan, and Messrs Allan and Cooper. Recitations were given by Messrs Shears and Cunningham, while Mrs and Miss Allan played a pianoforte duet.
