W itness attempted to lift the car, hut could not do so. He considered that Miss Black was then dead. Witness went for his father and _ brother, and together with the assistance of Mi Belling, who came along, they removed Mr Black. The car' was facing the right hand fence going to Timaru. William. McCaw gave corroborative evidence regarding tlie removal or deceased front; under the car. G. H. TJssher, medical practitioner, residing at Timaru, stated that he had proceeded to tlie scene of the accident in response to a message received. He found on arrival that Miss Black was dead, lier neck being broken. Mr Black was then in great pain, and he removed him to hospital. Constable Mayne also gave evidence regarding the scene of the accident and tlie position of the car. A verdict was returned that tlie deceased met her death as a result of a ear in which she' was riding accidentally ‘ overturning, and breaking her neck. ~ , . Tlie Coroner added that he considered it was a very dangerous practise to drive a light car with an important part of the steering gear •broken.'
