OLYMPIC GAMES.
LACK OF TRAINING FACILITIES. By Cable—Prots Association—Copyright. (Received 5.5 p.m., June 13.) LONDON, June 13. Intending competitors at the Olympic Games are experiencing many difficulties in connection with : their training arrangements. Boxers, cyclists, athletes ancl swimmers each train in different p'arts of Paris, long distances from the hotels. On arrival, the Australian athletes found no facilities whatever provided. The authorities state Colombes itself is not available for training purposes. The athletes declare the special train ing track is too heavy and unsuitable, lacking facilities for hurdlers and jumpets. Those who visited Colombes racing track to-day say the track rs soft, with many holes. Most of the visiting teams are expected hex - e next week. Ihe Australians are wondering how they will fare. The Americans are training in their own country, and will not arrive until the 24th. The Australian Olympic team was welcomed by the French Olympic Committee. Members of the team will start training immediately. Forty-two nations have entered for the Olympic Games. The Australians will compete -R shooting, athletics, wrestling, boxing, swimming, rowing, tennis and cycling.
