Break in Nationalist Party.
GENERAL HERTZOG’S DESIGNS
EXPOSED,
By Cab'e—Press Association —Copyright, CAPETOWN, June 12.
Mr Wolmarans, a prominent Nationalist, who seceded with twelve others from the Nationalist-Labour Pact, caused a sensation at a big Nationalist meeting at Losberg by a violent attack on the Pace, saying that he had joined tho Nationalists in 1915 because General Hertzog thought would be in favour of Germany. They all hoped that Germany would win and that a Republic would be declared. That was the impression he gained from the speeches of the Nationalist leaders. Yet they were now prepared to put that ideal aside in order to join hands with the Labourites, although at iho last election General Hertzog boasted that the Labour Party was shattered on the rock of Afrikanderism. No true Afrikander could work with a Socialistic Party. The pad had been forced oil the Nationalists by their leaders.
