PROBABLE OPERATIONS IN v AUSTRALIA. &T Cable Pre«» Association —Copyright. (Received 9.50 p.m., June 13.) OTTAWA, June 12. A telegram from Windsor says the Australian -Press Association has been informed on excellent authority that the Ford interest has not abandoned the original plans to establish a plant in Australia, and while the manufacture of cars will probably not be undertaken in Australia for some time to come, attention will be concentrated upon the assemblage of Ford parts 1 and the possible facilitation of bodies in order to avoid the high Australian duties thereon, and give the Fora interests a desirable concentration point from which to ship cars in India and the Far East most economically. It is understood that Mr H. C. French, travelling representative of the Canadian Ford Company, following a tour to Australia, to determine thef economic conditions, reported to his principals that he believed Australian labour conditions were not favourable at the present time to engage m an extensive manufacturing undertaking, which, however, may he launched in the future. ‘
