Tt was unanimously agreed that it would be in the interests of Agricultural and Pastoral Associations to take over the work of the New Zealand Council of Agriculture. . The Now Zealand Farmers’ Union, Timaru Branch, advised that they were prepared to co-operate with the Association, in endeavouring to obtain the services of a veterinary surgeon ior the Timru district. Mr Talbot stated that . the local branch of the Farmers’ Union, considered that a surgeon was badly needed m tho district, and were prepared to . work with the Association in order to secure the service of a veterinary surgeon. it was agreed that the Department of Agriculture be again written to and asked to renew their efforts in connection with securing a suitable man. The Returned Soldiers’ Association wrote stating that every endeavour was being made to place any bulls received under their pedigree bull scheme as near as possible to the district from where they- were donated Tlie chairman reported that he had attended the conierence recently held at Dunedin. A recommendation had beer, forwarded oil to the Government, asking them to publish a pamphlet giving- all the ear-marks in the various districts. He considered that it was an excellent idea, and if carried out, would prove a valuable reference to all stockowners. The show schedules as recommended by the various committees were adopted. „
