Dr. Peter Clarke Macfarlaue, the noted American theologian, author and playwright, committed suicide to escape Die sulierings of diabetes. A French Court ordered a hospital surgeon to pay 10,000 francs damages to a patient who had to undergo a second operations owing to a piece ot gauze being left in an incision during the first operation. An extraordinary outrage is reported from Vascy’s training stables at Doncaster. The stable doors were deliberately opened at midnight, im.i fourteen valuable racehorses driven out and stampeded throughout the night. Some were seriously injured.
