SUICIDE.
RABBITER’S TRAGIC END.
Early yesterday afternoon the Police received information that a man inuueu Jficnaei Angiand, of Tirnaru, bad left ins home with the intention of committing suicide. -Despite the efiorts of the police to locate him they were too late, and'shortly after three o’clock received word that their man had taken poison and was at a friend's residence m lieaton Street. j The deceased was a rabbiter, and a married man with three children, the eldest of whom was ten years old. He had been fourteen years resident in Now Zealand, and previously followed the occupation of a carter. Police investigations revealed a letter in which he stated his troubles, and concluded by expressing liis intention to commit suicide. A bottle containing strychnine was found in one of his pockets. When deceased reached his friend’s place, in Heaton Street, he stated that ho had poisoned himself, and lay down on a couch, whereupon Dr. Ussher was summoned, but on arrival, life was extinct. '
A post mortem examination will be conducted to-day, and an inquest will be held to-morrow.
