WARNING TO LICENSES
“Regarding licensed houses generally’-! said the chairman, Mr E. IL Mosley, at the annual meeting of the Waitaki Licensing Committee yesterday, “more especially in the Waimate district, the committee is not satisfied with their conduct. A considerable amount of alter hours trading is going on, and this must cease. If licensees can not make tlicir businesses pay between the hours of 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., they should give up business.” Mr Mosley added that although the police supervision throughout the district was excellent, after hours trading was still going on. “If any licensee is brought before me and convicted, after this warning. I will have to inflict a severe penalty.”
