EXPLORING NORTH GREENLAND, PARTY’S CLOSE CALL. By Cable—Press Association —Copyright. COPENHAGEN, September 19. An expedition led by the Danish scientist Dr. Koch has returned from Northern Greenland. The expedition left in July, 1920, and made a base 125 miles north of Thule, in latitude 78, and carried out explorations over an extensive area. He then experimented regarding the utility of motor tractors. On the return journey-to the base the food supplies ran out. Members suffered considerable illness in the dash for the base—37so miles were covered in two hundred days. Tho base was reached just in time, as food was exhausted. Twelve out of the fourteen dogs were killed and eaten.
