SVAI-ITI CLUB
At the annual meeting of the Waiiti Tennis Club, held in the Y.M.C.A. Rooms, Mr G. P. Wood presided. The annual report showed a great improvement in the Club finances, due to the rigid economy during the past season. The liabilities, on the pavilion and courts had been reduced by £156 and the new season begins with the finances in a very healthy state. \ The report and balance-sheet were adopted. Ten new members were elected. Mr G. P. Wood was enthusiastically re-elected president. ' Other officers elected were: Vice-presidents, Mr Burnett, Mr Robertson, Mr T. R. Maohav, Mr L. Mitchell, Mr Halstead, and Mr A. L. Marshal]; club captain, Mr G. Keen; secretary, Mr W. S. Long; treasurer, Mr E. J. Brock; management committee: Messrs Osborne, Green, England, Brookes, and 'Williams ; ladies’ committee: Mesdames Brock, Cotter, Long, and England, and Misses Trott and Rudge; selection committee, Miss Fraser, Keen and Long; delegates to association, Messrs Mitchell and Long
It was decided to shift back the fence at the south end, of the courts before opening day in order, to give a longer run back. The date of the opening day is to be decided by the committee with a recommendation, that the first Saturday in October should be chosen.
