Hickman has been appointed secretary of the Ashburton Branch of the Returned Soldiers’ Association, in place of Mr R. G. Bain, who resigned the position to take up another appointment. Mr W. "VV. Todd has retired from the position of Printer in the 'Wellington ‘‘Dominion” office, after some> fifteen years’ service. Word has been received that Messrs E. S. Fossey and K. H. Holdgate have been successful in passing the second professional medical examination held by the University of New Zealand. • A Press message states that the Premier left Wellington last night on a flying visit to Dunedin, where he is to open the A. and P. .Winter Show.
