Mrs Hhilipson, after the Bfer-wick-on-Tweed election, said that she is the first actress who has dared to face a critical audience of the political stage. “It has not been easy for me to listen to some remarks made about women in my profession by those who sought to lower the prestige of its members, hut women have shown they can, and will trust fellow women. It is proved that they realise that a woman is not barred by her sex from upholding the British traditions of honour and sportsmanship in politics.
