FIRST SALE AT AUCKLAND. By Telegraph—Press Association. AUCKLAND, Friday. The fourth and final wool sale "was held to-day. There was a good attendance, but bidding was somewhat erratic. Any attractive lines were keenly competed for, but some of the inferior wool was more or less neglected. About 75 per cent, was sold. Prices compared favourably with southern sales, The top price was 18£d for a nice line of fine wool. Super iambs brought I4fd. WORLD’S BUTTER COW. A new butler-fat record is reported from L’.S.A. A Jersey cow, Darling’s Jolly Lassie, owned bv Messrs Pickard Bros., Oregon, under strict official supervision, in 365 days produced 16,4251 b. milk, and 11.41*11). butterfat, of ai: average test of 6.95 per cent. The American Jersey Cattle Club records this cow as the world’s champion Jersey of all ages, and world’s champion junior four-year-old of all breeds.

LAND AND PROPERTY SALE. Pyne, Gould, Guinness, Ltd., in conjunction with the C.F.C.A., yesterday afternoon offered at auction in their land sale rooms, under instructions from the N Z. Insurance Co. executors in the estate of the Jate F. A. Acton, the Enviek farm, Pleasant Point. The farm consists of 359 acres of good cropping land, with buildings, outhouses, etc. There was a large attendance of the public, and the property was auctioned by Mr R. Herron. Bidding opened at £l2 an acre and rose slowly to £l-1, at which figure it was passed in to Mr J'. White. " The auctioneers report that a sale is likely. The. C.F.C.A. offered to public auction in Tattersall’s Saleyards, yester-, day afternoon two 14 acre blocks adjoining Pleasant Point Saleyards. on account of the estate of the late Mr J. Greig. ’Die bidding reached £25 per acre, at which figure it was passed in. Messrs Haynes, Oakev and Co., offered to a largo attendance in their salerooms, the seven-roomed residence in Cain Street on behalf of Airs C. S. Gillies. Bidding opened fit £IOOO, and rose to £IOSO, at which figure, being short of the reserve, the property was passed in. The auctioneers expect an early sale.

PIONEER. TERMINATING BUILDING SOCIETY.

An extraordinary general meeting of shareholders of the .Pioneer TerminatI Jug Building Society, of Timaru, was lieid on Thursday evening at tlie Arcade Board Boom. Air it. N. Llawkes was in tne chair, and there were present, cignteon shareholders. Tlie amendments to. the Rules to provide for tne working .of the No. 5 Group m accordance with the provisions of the Building Societies' . Act, were considered. The proposed amendments were taken as read'as a copy had been sent to every Shareholder. Alter some discussion and explanation by the chairman and the Society’s solicitors, a resolution was carried that the amendments do adopted as submitted to the shareholders. The above places the machinery necessary for the carrying out ot the ideas 111 connection with tire No. 0 Group in order. Appropriations in the isos. 2,3, and 4 Groups were then taken. The following were appointed scrutineers: — Alessrs AV. Schrader and V. Carlson. In the No. 2 Group on tire ballot being drawn ,a single suareliolder holding share No. 17 was .successful and took £l5O. In order to dispose of the other £l5O, it was necessary to again draw, and this- time a shareholder holding shares Nos. 06 8 was drawn. The latter will , have the right of taking the next £.150 available for ballot on his second share. A sale in this Group was then taken for which three tenders were received, 'lender No. 1 at £2O per £l5O was accepted, and took the £3OO available. In the No. 3 Group the sum of £3OO was disposed of by ballot when share No. 67 a double .shareholder, was successful. An appropriation of £450 in the No. 4 Group was also disposed of, when share No. 104, a single shareholder, was drawn for the first £l5O. In the second draw a shareholder with three shares drew the £3OO, with share No. 173, and he will have the option of taking a further sum of £l5O on his third share, when it is available. During the evening the total sum of £1950 was disposed of by the Society. At a subsequent meeting.of directors, it was reported by tlie secretary that close on half the shares required for the No. 5 Group had been applied for.
