SOUTH ISLAND UNION REMITS. PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM CHRISTCHURCH, Thursday. The South Island Motor Union lias passed a resolution that representations should be made to tho Minister for Justice that heavier penalties should bo inflicted for breaches of tho by-iaws. The Union passed the following remits ; That the Government be requested to amend the Main Highways Act to provide for two Boards, one for the North Island and one for the South Island, instead of one Board for both, as at present. That this , meeting protests very strongly against the Government’s delay in appointing members of the Road Boards under the provisions of the Maui Highways Bill of last session, and m the framing of regulations for the administration of tlie Act. That the Union recommends to affiliated associations the colour route scheme for the Main South Road.
