Of last year’s bank- | rnpts 138 wore adjudicated on the peti- j tion of creditors. Tlie bankruptcies in 1922 are tlie largest since 1886-87, when there were over a thousand filings. Of the occupations of the bankrupts, farmers, with 197, head the list.
