CHRISTCHURCH, Wed. At the Addington market there were heavy yardings in ail classes today Beef again showed an easing for second quality. Fat sheep were also easier. Fat lambs were slightly firmer, and there was a good sale of store sheep. . Store sheep.—A big yarding for a winter sale, and a good market, though scarcely up to last week. Good two-tooth Romney cross ewes realised 36s 9d; good four-year-old ewes 30s to ,31s 9d; fair-mouthed ewes 24s 6d to 26s 4d; failingmouthed ewes 16s 9d to 225; aged 13s to 16s; cull 8s to 12s 6d. Forward four and six-tooth wethers brought 24s 9d to 25s lid, ordinary 21s 3d to 245; good two and fourtooth wethers 22s to 23s 6d; twotooth wethers 19s 4d to 21s 6d; two, four, six and eight-tooth wethers 21s lOd to 23s lOd. Good three-quarter-bred ewe hoggets sold at 23s to 24s lOd; ordinary ewe hoggets 20s 3d to 22s 6d, cull 16s Id to 19s; wether hoggets 17s 9d to 20s Gd, inferior 14s to 16s 6d. Fat lambs.—A yarding of 2600 met a slightly firmer sale, overall values being 9d and in cases 9 1-Sd per lb. Extra prime lambs realised 32s 6d; prime 27s 9d to 30s 6d, medium 24s Gd to 27s 3d, light 19s 6d to 245.

Fat sheep.—There was a heavier entry than for some months. Prime wethers were unaltered, but other classes were weaker by Is to Is 6d per head. Extra prime wethers sold

at 34s to 375, for special 39s Id; prime 30s to 33s 6d, medium 27s 6d to 29s 9d, light 25s to 27s 3d. Extra prime ewes made 30s to 32s lOd; prime 24s 6d to 2Ss Gd, medium 20s to 245, light 16s 6d to 19s 6d, old 13s to 16s.

Fat cattle. —A heavy yarding of 445 head met.with a further easing. Extra prime beef made to 26s<’6d, good to prime 22s to 245, medium 19s to 21s, inferior 0s to 17s 6d per 1001bs., Extra prime steers brought £l3 ss, prime £8 15s to £l2, medium £6 10s to £S 10s, light £4 5s to £6 ss. Extra prime heifers bruoght £9, prime £4 10s to £7 ss, ordinary £2 15s to £4 7s Gd. Extra prime cows made £6 12s Gd, prime £4 5s to £6 ss, ordinary £3 to £4. Store cattl.e—A large yarding and a weak demand. Three and fouryear steers sold up to £4 7s 6d; 18-months to two-year-old heifers £2 12s 6d.

Dairy cattle. —Good cows and heifers I close to calving sold well. Best cows made up to £l3 ss, medium to good £6 to £ll 10s. Extra good springing heifers realised £IS, medium to good £7 to £l2. Vealers. —There was a heavy yarding, and an all round easing of prices. Good runners sold at £4 15s; ordinary heavy vealers £2 17s 6d to £3 12s 6d, medium vealers 18s to £2. . Fat pigs.—Baconers were easier, but porkers sold at late rates. Choppers £3 to £5 10s; light baconers£3 15s to £4, heavy £3 15s to £4, extra heavy £4 12s. Average price per lb, sld to 6d. Light porkers sold at £2 2s to £2 7s, heavy £2 10s to £2 17s. Average price per ID, 7d to Bd.

Store pigs.—A small yarding, and the market lacked the briskness of the previous week. AVeaners 3s to 8s 6d; small stores 12s to 18s, medium 20s to 28s, large 29s to 355; sows in pig £3 to £3 17s 6d. TEMUKA. At the Temuka stock sale, which was held on Tuesday, there were medium yardings of fat lambs and sheep, and a very small entry of stores. Fat ewes advanced 2s per head and fat Jambs averaged 9d per lb. There was only a small yarding of fat and store cattle. Ox beef sold at 21s per 1001 b, and cow beef at 15s. A big yarding of dairy cows met with a poor demand, and the same remarks applies to the entry and sale of pigs. STUDHOLME SALE. There was a large yarding of fats and stores, at the Studholme sale.yesterday. Prices for fat sheep and lambs were well maintained.
